MANAGE YOUR TIME WISELY
Know and accept early that the bulk of your waking (and a solid portion of sleeping) hours are going to be spent in studio. Start early within the morning, and you’ll presumably be ready to leave the studio before midnight. If you follow this recommendation , you would possibly be ready to avoid the late nights that make architecture school infamous.
EXPAND YOUR NETWORK
Join a club. Meet friends outside of the environment you spend 95 percent of some time in. Plus, they could even pity you adequate to bring by late-night snacks. And don’t forget to line aside a while for yourself also . Deadline week being an exception, give yourself one night every week to relax. albeit it’s just an evening on the couch watching Netflix, your sanity will many thanks .
MIND YOUR VOCABULARY
Don’t call it a building. It’s an area . Just confine mind that talking like an architect to non- archi people can cause you to sound pretentious. And stop abusing the word “juxtaposition.”
BE RELENTLESS
Architecture school may be a marathon, not a sprint. you want to be determined to succeed regardless of what happens. no matter what anyone says, you’ve got to stay your head and keep going, alternatively you’ll get eaten alive. No complaining. Have the attitude that nobody will get in your way and zip will keep you from achieving your goal. Dream and think big.
Be gratified in knowing that you simply are working to become an architect, and confirm to urge the degree which will enable you to try to to that. I’ll leave you with one among my favorite quotes by Italian architect and Pritzker lottery winner Renzo Piano: you’ll put down a nasty book; you’ll avoid taking note of bad music; but you can’t miss the ugly high-rise opposite your house.
