How To Start Tyre Retreading Business | SkillsAndTech
Tyre Retreading is a new technology. After applying this method the old tyres become serviceable and usable. The part of the tyre that comes in contact with the surface of the road is known as the tread. The tread is an integral part of the tyre and is responsible for providing traction.
New treads are available in the market. In brief, it can be put on an old tyre and cured with the help of steam. Similar to the new tyres, the treated tyres can be very well used on all vehicles, irrespective of light or heavy vehicles. With a safe and new technology, which is being adopted nowadays, it will be easier and more economical to produce tyres.

In this process, the Pre-cured Tread Rubber already has a tread pattern on it eliminating the need for a tread matrix at the vulcanizing stage. Tread Rubber is procured along with other raw materials and manufactured in the factory under controlled conditions and given a well-researched pattern ensuring that the transporter gets a reliable perfectly finished product.
Retreading Tyre by the pre-cured method gives 50% more mileage than the tyre retreaded by the conventional process. In this article, we will explore how to start a small scale tyre retreading business.

As in most parts of the world, tyre retreading in India is done extensively for commercial vehicles such as trucks and busses. The primary reason for retreading tyres is to save operational costs as applying a new tread can be done at less than half the cost of a new tyre.
With further growth of the economy, there will be an increased number of vehicles in transport as well as passenger vehicles and hence more tyres will be required. Hence, there is a very wide scope for retread tyres as an original replacement.

First of all, properly clean the tyres that come from the customers. Additionally, remove the dust and mud.
Step 2
Then inspect the casing for cuts, ply section, the condition of beads etc. And then, based on the condition of the casing, select or reject the tyre. Under-inflated conditions, you must buff the selected tyre’s crown area to the required texture and contour. This is for better bonding of procured rubber to the casing.
